Overview:
This is a Genuine JAP Piston Assembly (STD size) for the JAP Model 6 engine, OEM reference SSA24. Designed for vintage J.A. Prestwich petrol engines used in small plant and machinery, it restores correct compression and smooth operation by sealing the combustion chamber and transferring force to the connecting rod. The piston is an aluminium alloy component for low mass and good heat transfer, machined to standard bore size for engines built to factory specifications. Supplied without the piston pin (also known as the gudgeon/wrist pin), so you will need to reuse your existing pin or source a replacement. As an unused old stock vintage part, it may show age-related storage marks or light tarnish that do not affect function. Ideal for careful rebuilds and sympathetic restorations of JAP Model 6 engines.
