Overview:
The Volkel Helicoil Thread Repair Insert 1/2UNC x 1.0D is a stainless-steel wire insert used to restore damaged or stripped internal threads to a durable 1/2-13 UNC size. Made from corrosion-resistant stainless steel, it provides a hard-wearing thread surface in softer base materials such as aluminium and cast alloys, as well as in steels and plastics. The 1/2 inch (12.7 mm) nominal size with 1.0D length gives an installed thread length of approximately 12.7 mm. This insert is suitable for maintenance and repair on construction and garden machinery, from engine casings to gearbox housings and frames. It is fitted using the correct STI tap and installation tool and delivers a strong, reliable thread that often outlasts the original.
