Description
Modern diesel emission systems incorporate technology that is designed to clean up the exhaust emissions as the exhaust gasses pass through the exhaust. One of the most popular systems uses a Urea solution, like AdBlue®, that is injected in to the exhaust before the Catalytic convertor to convert the oxides of nitrogen coming out of the engine in to nitrogen and water. When these systems fail the engine will initially fall in to “limp mode” and if not corrected, eventually the vehicle OBD system may prevent the vehicle starting. Part of the diagnostic routine for these SCR (AdBlue® injection) systems is to measure the pressure in the system both electronically via the OBD diagnostic software and protocols and dynamically using pressure test gauges. The Laser 8060 provides the gauge and connection pipes required to allow the user to directly measure the system pressure at the injector (dosing module) or pump.
