Would this fit my Honda GCV 160 , the fuel tank opening is 3cm wide? It would not be used permanently,
It would only be used when topping up fuel then removed before fitting the tank cap back on
Or can you recommend a gauze type filter that could be used?

My colleague has been having a look to see what we could recommend, the only others he could find were these, but he thinks they might be too big for what you need:
