I hear it switch on when first switched on but there after no sound and pump does not start, is it the switch that is faulty?

Its likely either the switch or the capacitor that is faulty, we would recommend you try a new switch first as this is the much cheaper of the two. Capacitor - 4754 605 1005 Switch - 4765 430 0500.
