L&S Engineers Proudly Supports the Lichfield Lionesses
Recently the Lichfield Lionesses travelled to Leicester for a memorable day of rugby at the Leicester Tigers training facilities at Oval Park.
With the sun shining and two strong teams representing Lichfield, the tournament provided the perfect stage for the players to demonstrate their skill, teamwork and determination. From the opening matches, the Lionesses played with confidence, producing some excellent rugby and competing strongly against teams from across the region.
Having two Lichfield teams in the tournament also created the unusual prospect of teammates facing one another on the pitch. These matches were full of competitive spirit, robust tackling and plenty of friendly bragging rights. Honours were eventually shared, with each Lionesses team securing a victory over the other.
After a full day of closely contested matches, the two Lichfield teams finished as runners-up and third overall. It was an impressive achievement and a fitting conclusion to a fantastic season.
L&S Engineers was proud to sponsor both teams for the tournament, providing their rugby sevens strips for the occasion. The new kits ensured the players looked every bit as sharp as the skills they displayed on the pitch.
The day was made even more special for us because our colleague Hannah, who works in our warehouse around her studies, was selected to play in the tournament. We would like to congratulate Hannah on her selection and on representing the Lionesses during such a successful day.
For several players, the tournament marked the end of their time with the Lionesses as they prepare to take the next step in their rugby journeys. We wish them every success and hope to see many of them progressing into one of the Lichfield women’s teams next season.
At L&S Engineers, we are pleased to support local teams and initiatives that create opportunities for young people. It was rewarding to see our sponsorship contribute to such a positive occasion and help this talented group of young women continue to develop, progress and enjoy the sport.
